Hello again guys, I've been contacted by a few members who could not attend the first meet.
Well, how about another one I say?
I should be able to bring a few watchboxes that I'm finishing, one in maple, one in walnut.
We are very a friendly group, so don't be shy even if you have only swiss watches(blasphemy!)
It will be a blast, just aks JéJé or Dave or Jean-Pierre...
I'm thinking saturday july 17, let me know what works for you.

Update, Noah Fuller will be there with his Tsunamis and his mods, can join us!

Re: MONTREAL MEET--PART DEUX--JOIN US!!

Hi Steve, sounds good to me. ;)

I think Jeje is on vacation or MIA lately.
From the last post member JLAU_design(jason) was interested to come on next one.
Should I post this on other forums? Maybe we can get a bigger crowd?

Cheers, Dave.

You go ahead Dave, more people, more fun! Even if they're not Seiko fanatics!

Ok, St-Hubert restaurant, saturday july 17, 6 pm, Tashereau Blvd, near Lapinière in Brossard.
Champlain bridge, exit Tashereau east, keep to your right, two stoplights and you're there.
Reservation under my name, Steven Rivest
If any Montrealers would like to come, drop me a line so that I can reserve a table for the right number of guys.
See you

Hey guys, I heard thru the grape vine there will be a BIG GTG in Montreal on July 16-18, with dinners/shows at just for laughs festival.
I don't know who is organizing or which forum group. ??? Hmmm. Here I thought I read most forums. Who or what is this elusive forum and where's their GTG meet so we can crash it. LOL.

Hey Steve I'm guessing 6pm is meeting time?

Cheers, Dave.

Yes, I just found out. I'd like to see some panerai's. You think they'd like to see my Japanese watches? :)
I guess it wouldn't work out. :(
I figure all watches are interesting, regardless of brand/price. But I'd feel as though I'd show up in my Honda, and they'd be sporting Porsche's.
Hmmm, I'd like a porsche too. lol.

Looking good in the sunshine and sand Jeje. :)

Which watch did you wear for snorkling? Which one was the lucky watch to get wet. ;D

Re: MONTREAL MEET--PART DEUX--JOIN US!!

After a few more tries, my official beach watch is..... Drum rolls......

The SKX171 on a Z22 with metal keeper. The watch is perfect. Tough, well balanced, the metal on the markers attract the light so its always easy to read, and just old enough not to be afraid of wearing it anywhere. Also the bezel is so easy to handle even with sunscreen on the hands.
I did wear the orange Sumo ( a bit afraid to scratch her) and the Sawtooth but both on bracelet and the Z22 is really perfect for water / humid environment.
I did boil it to give it a nice curve.

A pic from last year, I did not do better this time lol

And a (this year) lousy pic but my bro looks nice

Nice to see the SKX171 is the winner. Makes sense. I'd be scared to scratch the sumo too.
Nice pics. I see the lizard is eying your every move. He's making sure you don't want to turn him into a new lizard strap for the SKX171. :))

Gotta love vacation photos. ;)

Re: MONTREAL MEET--PART DEUX--JOIN US!!

Dave,

I actually went to that GTG last year. It was in Toronto because F1 was cancelled here. I only wore my Orange monster to go there and let me tell you that the comparison is not honda to porsche. it is honda to bentley... Although they are a very nice and approachable crowd, I simply felt out of place.

I did not regret going last year, met some nice people, but I am not going again this year.

When I went to the NYC GTG in May, it was almost the same thing, except more diversified brands and this group was slightly more down to earth.

The good thing is that both times I was a lucky winner of some door prizes: caps, exclusive book and watch case.

Up to nine guys now.
If we are lucky(cross our fingers) a well known watch tinkerer should be there with his custom creations.
I'll know by saturday.
Join us on the dark side.
