Aloha ,

For me I would take a .... " Spring Drive " instead.
Or
A ... " Grand Seiko "..... would do just fine for me also.
Or
A very nice .... " Aviator Pilot Watch " would do.

I'm going to venture a guess that whomever bought this is not even that much of a watch fan. They're either a Brando fan, or more likely, an investor who know these things are investments, in the same way they might buy a painting, or other work of art. The story behind it means other investors will, in time, value it even more, at which time this buyer unloads it, and makes a bunch of money.

Betting the house it's not a WIS.

...All Day Long ;)

Totally off topic but I had to say it. No trained operator would have their finger on the trigger until the need to fire arises. It's just something that you just don't do. Little details like this are easy to do right.

Hi Kenny,

I hope you are doing well and on your way to a full and speedy recovery :) IIRC the above APOC scene is when Chef wants to forage for Mangos and with Willard escorting they leave the boat and venture into the Jungle. While Willard escorts Chef there is a noise and movement in the bush alerting Willard and a SE Asian Tiger jumps out at them. If an enemy ambush was suspected it would make sense to be ready with a finger on the trigger and weapon leveled.

Chef:
I got to remember... Never get out of the boat.

Willard:
Absolutely Goddamn right... Never Get Out of the Boat.

Hi Kenny,

I hope you are doing well on your way to a full and speedy recovery :) IIRC the photo from the above APOC scene is when Chef leaves the boat and returns to tell Willard that he heard something moving in the Jungle. Willard accompanies Chef and a SE Asian Tiger jumps out at them. If an enemy ambush was suspected it would make sense and be ready with a finger on the triger and weapon leveled.

Thanks Kyle for your kindness. I think I turned the corner yesterday. My pain level has dropped enough that I'm off the narcotics and treating with Tylenol. I'm also exercising more to regain my strength. I will be able to return home hopefully next week. They won't let me go until the staples are removed which is typically 3 weeks after surgery.

Good observation about the tiger scene!! I need to rent the movie and watch it again. Been too long since I've seen it!

Kenny,

If it has been a while since you last saw APOC I would highly recommend the Final Cut (IMO the Best Version by far).

Aloha Kenny,
Kenny hope all is well with you back there.
Hey , the APOCALYPSE.... is on a DVD also to watch the ... Full Version.
I caught your point about ... Willard and if you have been trained in ... The Military one just does
not go tripping around holding a rifle like that. And the other guy he is just awaiting a shot from a
...... Sniper or like ... The Tiger coming to get them.

Remember they were in ..... Total Enemy Country that look like that.
If contact is made it should be held ... crossed chested no matter what.
But the Finger on The Trigger that is a ....No, No, it should be just onto the front of ... The Trigger Guard to be more effective. Remember ... The Safety was not to be on while on any Recon like that
no matter what goes on.
Any time one is in the Bush of any kind you just go Tripping like that and being Un-aware of things.
If one does trip, and fall .... He could kill a good number of ... His Buddies like that.
Many had the bad habit of just walking with their weapon hanging down facing toward the ground
and ..... >>> Charlie Took Them Out Real Easy.
I had notice when on the go in the bush and ...Encountered Charlie most of them never walked around like those two were doing.

For me if I was in ... The Bush and saw them I would have took them out at already way back.
The movie was quite good but Hollywood did not do to much on the more effective parts. You know this is done to be in .... South East Asia right, so it has to be more extensive than it was then the
movie would have been a lot more effective.
But my nickname was .... " One Shot "... after all.

That was a great post! Thanks. I've never been in combat or had to draw my weapon in self defense but I do know finger off the trigger until ready to fire! Under stress it would be very easy to have an unintentional discharge and innocent lives could be lost.
