Hi All,
I'm new to watches and horology. I have my father's 6139-6009, made in March of 1970, which has never been opened or serviced. It is missing the crown, and has severe scratches on the crystal. The day only moves between SAT/ SAB/ DOM/ SUN, and the day does not seem to be advancing (however it is not on a winder or being worn, so thats hard to confirm at the moment. It does run, and the chronograph works and returns to zero. I've sourced an NOS crystal (however not domed, it is the flat one), and an NOS Stem, crown, gear and gasket as an assembly. I've also found all of the gaskets.

I was not aware that many people will not service these watches. I was also unaware of the recent interest in them.

This watch is engraved, and will not be sold, however, I'd really like to get it running again.

Can anyone recommend a good repair specialist who focuses on Seiko's like this one?

Thanks very much for any assistance that you can provide!

That is a spectacular watch. It will look and run like new after a proper service. If John isn’t available then we have other outstanding watch wizards on this forum. I have had stellar work done by four of them.
