So about 12 years or so I really got into Seiko watches. I mean deep. Grabbed me a Grand Seiko SBGR023, Marine Master SBDX001 (I think that's the model #), saw some guy at the coffee shop I frequent with a beat to heck 6309-7049 diver and I traded him the Orient I was wearing (think the Orient cost me about $150.00) and then sent it to some fellow in North Carolina (International Watch Works?) who restored it and did an amazing job. Also bought a Rolex No-Date sub before they went to the huge cases. I believe Rolex fan boys call this No Date sub a "4-line."

Anyways, happy with my watches I sort of drifted out of watches besides enjoying and wearing the heck out of them. My Marine Master has been around the world with me and deep underwater. (I scuba dive.)

Ok where was I? So one day I'm in my coffee shop and some guy asks about my rolex and we start talking about Seiko divers and that's really my thing. He told me of the reproductions of the first divers Seiko was starting to release. (SLA017 and there's another I forget) and I'm like, HOLY S...!" Well being out of the loop on watches I missed the release of these reproduction divers and now I'm seeing prices like 7 grand for 'em. Is that kind of the going price for 'em used nowadays. Do you think Seiko (or Prospex) will release these watches again buy not on the "limited pieces" nonsense? Is Seiko going to continue to release preproduction models?

Also, and I guess this question should be on the Orient sub but Orient had a stunning top-of-the-line model that rivaled Grand Seikos. I believe it was called a Royal Orient? It wasn't a Royal Orient Star but just a Royal Orient. Before purchasing my GS I read a post here where someone compared the GS SBGR023 to this Royal Orient and I was really torn as to which to get. ANyways, does Orient still make this watch.

Thanks for taking the time to read and look at my post.
