Hi Guys, I'm new to this forum and very late to this thread but since I own a 6139 Silver 'proof' I thought id share a picture. Sorry I dont have a picture of it alone (everything is in storage due to Covid discplacement) and this is the only picture I have on my computer at the moment. I picked this 6139 up at a small watch seller/repair shop a few years ago in SF. It had been an 'abandoned' watch that came in for a service in the 90s and never picked up and then lost in inventory by the watchmaker. They found it by chance and put it out in the display case and I was the lucky guy who walked in at the right moment. I have always loved the Pogues and would have been happy with any model, but Its only after I bought it that I learned how rare this model is. It has a h-link signed Seiko bracelet when purchased by me, but I took that off to not scratch it up any further and in this picture its on an Uncle Seiko h-link. Take care and I look forward to more Silver Proof discussion that I hopefully wont be late on.

Welcome to the forum! And that's a beauty. Just out of curiosity, can you tell me if the second day option is in Chinese? I believe every known proof silver has a Chinese/English day wheel, but there are so few that it would be good to have confirmation of another.

Thanks! To be honest I think it alternates Asian konji (not sure language) and English. I will have to follow up about that when I get back to my stuff and can confirm. I've been on WUS for several years and only just discovered you guys which is pretty awesome for my Seiko love.

The Chronometer on the right is a rare one too. I think it is a 5626-7090. A King Seiko in all but name. Very nice indeed.

Awesome find, can you post picture of the caseback ? I noticed that it looks like it has regular shiny hour and minute hands unlike some of the early 6000s.

Nice one - when you do get your watch(es) back in-hand, it would be good to confirm the first 2 digits of the serial no (for year/month) and the Day wheel language... also, if you could share photos of the clasp and end links of the bracelet too, that would be nice to document :)

As a reminder - the Chinese day wheel has
  • 日 - Sunday
  • 一 - Monday
  • 二 - Tuesday
  • 三 - Wednesday
  • 四 - Thursday
  • 五 - Friday
  • 六 - Saturday

Kyle, you forgot to request Written Permission with Certificate of Authenticity before using one of my photo's.............:)

I've been following this thread but have been too busy to chime in or dig out any of my silver dial 6139's for comparision. When time allows I'll see if I can add anything.

Tom, I did not realize this was your watch but I should have realized as you often use a blue background ;)

I recently caught a faint glimpse of this while looking through Ebay listings. Offered with a Buy-It-Now or Best Offer. Rather than wait for a reply to a Best Offer I smashed the BIN button with Extreme Prejudice (I should ask member CombatID for written permission before using his phrase) :)

This just came in the mail today from Indonesia. Production date is Feb 71’

Has anyone seen any 6002 that comes with this tapered style of stelux bracelet?

I think this should clean nicely with a good relume job and service.

I think this could be the 6139-7002 style bracelet you show. The ratio of widths of side and center link pieces is different. I'd like to see underside photos when you get it.
