Kelly inspired me...

Because of his beautifully restored 6138-8020 I went on a 5+ year chase for one. Had it all done but the plating job went south quickly. Eventually tracked down all nos externals incl a case....

Guess which image is his and which is mine.

Why would he leave them untouched if he could improve them by editing them?
From emails I had with Kelly in 2007:

...I actually use a Nikon Coolpix 4300. It has great macro capabilities and fully automatic and manual features. I have a lightbox and a tripod and use an 18w Ott-lite. You don't have to buy an expensive camera for watch photography. Mine has been discontinued, but newer versions with the same or similar features can be purchased for around $200.00. No special lens or filters...

...I love digital cameras over film cameras. I use Photoshop as my "digital darkroom."...

Obviously Photoshop would be involved. Photo editing tools are part of the digital toolbox.
