Could somebody point me to an ebay auction for the appropriate reproduction strap? I see a number of different auctions and I'd like to get the right one.
Thanks
well contact Uncle Seiko aka Larry and he will take great care of you on the proper band you need
i would also contact Spencer Klein's wife for the proper type 2 or type 1 crystal this watch deserves too
they actually have the exact copy of the originals and they are the only ones making the type 2
if you need any help just let us know
stay safe out there
God Bless,John

This is from the first batch of 6105-8110’s produced in May, June, and some in July 1970. These had Proof dial and Proof caseback. The next batch production resumed in January 1971, by then dials and caseback were all Resist. The 1970 Proof/Proof are the most collectible 6105’s.

I thought resist/resist 6105-8000s were rarer.

‘But most rare does not always mean most sought after.

There were fewer super duty Formulas than Trans Ams.
‘And fewer 68 Charger 500s than 69 Daytona’s.

That was one of the latest I have noted (070347).
Hi John,

Trying to gauge approximately how many 6105-8110 P/P were made. Never easy or an exact science but would like to check with you and the 6105 Database :) What is the highest number serial number you have recorded for May June and July? Thanks!

Although I have no idea of actual production numbers both the 6105-8110 Proof/Proof and the 6139 Sunrise were only made by Seiko for a few months. The 6105 P/P for only 3 months (May, June, July 1970) and the 6139 Sunrise for only 2 months (November and December 1972). I believe that both of these watches would be considered Rare and both would be considered Desirable :)

Scarce is a better word for 6105-8110 P/P I reckon Kyle. 6139 Sunrise’ are a lot more elusive and certainly rarely turn up in good condition.. the dials are usually buggered.

As the Seiko Sunrise shares the same exact caseback with other 6139-6002 models the serial numbers would be of little use and give no indication of actual Sunrise production. Seiko 6105-8110 Proof/Proof production would be easier to track as the caseback is unique with unique serial numbers. Sunrise production would be nearly impossible to track as the Sunrise did not have a unique caseback.

I’m just going by my own experience... I owned and seen a lot of P/P’s, they are not rare. The Sunrise is different beast altogether and was clearly made in much smaller numbers.

Most 6105-8110 Proof/Proofs were produced in June as most have a June Production Serial number. May and July had a very low production run with low serial numbers (less than 1,000 for both May and July). Very possible that there are higher serial numbers out there but I could not find any.

This is the Highest Serial Number that I could find. Seiko 6105-8110 Proof/Proof from June 1970 with serial number 064502

So I am quessing :)

1,000 made in May
5,000 made in June
1,000 made in July

Total 7,000

For those who have deep pockets: There is a nice Sunrise currently up for auction on Yahoo Japan.

Seems to be a logical guess based on current available facts!

I never collected many serial numbers but this may be of use, first number is earliest and last is the latest.

May 0134........2418
June 0177.......4687
July 0016........0347

Thank You Commander Sir :)

Based on New and Improved Information I am going to change the guess to:

Seiko 6105-8110 Proof/Proof production:

3,000 made in May
5,000 made in June
1,000 made in July

Total 9,000
