Received 3 undelivered cards today (well 2 were for import tax, yuck), so cycled down to the depot, paid, cycled back and ripped open the parcels, to be confronted by my newbies

1) 7548-700F Ser # 8D2011. It's on the original strap, but the keeper has broken, best hunt out a replacement. Needs new crystal, bezel gasket at minimum, and reluming, as I want a watch that is feasible to wear in the dark (my others are sentimental or patina "heaven").

2) H556-5028 Ser # 443654. Going to be cleaned up, new strap and become a daily beater. Looks like it was serviced up to date shown. Light isn't as powerful as I've seen on others. Insides are clean as a whistle, and grease present on back case O-ring, oh and alarm works!

And finally 3) 6309-7040 Ser # 954207. Came with 23 jewel movement, I was told it was rare, anyone help me out? The rotor bearing sounds nasty, so spares or service maybe required (scratch that, will be required). Not a 100% on that bezel insert either.

Well I'm happy with them, they aren't the rarest watches, but they've got a good home now, I think :)

Thanks for reading,
David

It's all about the TLC. I know they were 17J movements in the 6309, just would like to know why this swap occurred, the last owner said the movement was rare, and unsure why the swap occurred. I'll never find out, but I'll always come up with a different theory. I'm leaving this and my other 6309 well alone on the customising front, both all original, bezel damage and all!!

Ok, ok, my arms twisted, it'll stay original, but as Selym says, those hands have got to go, not go go, just replaced or relumed. Which hands can I swap them out for? One of these days I'm going to get hold of a Seiko that's going to get a re-lume, patina or no patina :) .
