... buy this when someone came in asking if I'd be interested at a very reasonable price :)

It's a 1981 6309-5300 in remarkably good condition (inside and out) and just needs a service (no sign of barrel wear etc), some very light case finishing, and a crystal polish. Haven't decided yet if it's going to be sale stock or mine but, either way, I need to find a more appropriate strap / bracelet.

Did try looking it up in the catalogues on here to get an idea of what it should have but the 1981 books are HUGE downloads and my poor old netbook just couldn't cope with them. I may try again later or does anyone have suggestions what it should be on or would look good on?

Since it has the straight end links there are many good options NOS on that famuous auction web site at good prices.

I'd like to suggest a coffin link style.

Great looking watch, a real classic look to it! If it were me, I'd keep it.

FWIW, aside from some obvious SS bracelets, I think a nice dark brown or black fine leather strap would complement that very nicely!
