I was browsing the Seiko USA site on the SKX173 just because... (always dangerous to the wallet looking up other models)
http://www.seikousa.com/collections/seiko core/SKX173
I noticed the description..

* Powered by the movement of your body
Environmentally friendly
The most advanced electronic watch technology
Hour, minute and second hands
Automatic power generator
Power reserve indicator function
21-jewel, self-winding
One way rotating elapsed timing
Extra long pressure vented urethane strap
Screwdown crown and caseback
200 meters water resistant

I am not so sure of the indicated advertising hype :p at least on my well used SKX173

Any other interesting descriptions out there?

It appears to be a kinetic description, which of course the 173 is not. One of a billion informational potholes on the information superhighway!

This is a Brand New SKX 173, Never Worn

The SKX 173 Seiko Diver Watch:
I have is brand new never been worn, well I wore it to
see how it look. I got this from a guy that bought it but
just kept it he said he never used it. He uses a Rolex
instead.
Box papers, sales receipt, everything complete.:yahoo:

When it came to me (I had to ) unwrap it from its original
factory wrapping. :72:

Please excuse the lint and dust.

What a nice buy! From what friends with the Rolex's tell me he should have given you the Rolex and kept the Seiko! Think my friend sends his one back to Rolex at least once a year for repairs!

But this watch has never left my work room door.
It has just been taken out of the wrapping, put on once
put back into wrapping and boxed. It was the ...(3'rd )
Third watch I got since joining here.
I started to search Ebay to learn what they had and
this one showed up. So I learned to email and send one
to him.
I had just joined here recently and ... ,
" A Green Horn to the Gill's " about watchs.:72:
It cost me ...... $42.00 + $ 3.50 shipping, it is from Canada.
When it came I said ( WOW ) well look for more, then all this
started to run wild till now. I have one more from Puerto Rico
used condition but real nice, and (Three) more used ones but in
very good condition yet, I got real deal from a Mexican guy in Arizona
he said he was a Gardner and saw them in a garage sale, while working,
bought them and on the Bay they went. (He said, I don't like watchs I have
to shake all the time and rest.)
I said I do .....:86:
He told me ...... $ 35.00 + 4.00 shipping. All are Originals yet.
SKX173 's are .... Shake, Rattle, and used, not consistent running
or chargeable, last I heard.
