Hi:)
I guy contacted me to say his watch is no go. Its got a 5M43.
Esslinger list the YT58 under that reference but they don't say its a replacement.

Is it?

from what I remember the YT57/58 are the same.
However, a 5M doesn't cost more, so I would just get the original.

Ok but where to get one? People like Cousins say its obsolete.
Was that 5m43 from an old Kinetic? I had one and it bit the dust. Sent it to Seiko Osaka and had the 5m61? replace it. There were dud 5m42/3s during the mid to late 90s in those kinetics and AGS models. It was fine and Seiko said the new capacitor was good for 4 to 6 months. Well, I just did not wear it and the watch went dead again haha! Dumped it .

I also had kept my Seiko Leganza diver AGS for several years though the 5m23 capacitor was shot. Instead of replacing the capacitor, I had a friend convert the watch to regular battery! He removed the rotor, is all! Now I can wear the watch without worrying it will go dead on me from lack of wearing!
