I decided to replace the battery on my quartz Seiko diver's watch myself, as a first step deeper into this watch madness. I bought all the correct tools and screwed off the back and discovered another reason why it is sometimes better to do something yourself. The backplate of the movement was just lying loose in the case.
The tiny little screws (2) that held the back on were missing. Whoever I had taken the watch to before to change the battery had apparently lost them and just said "never mind" and put the watch back together. Sort of. Weasel.
What size screws are these folks? Thanks for the help.
