purchased the Seiko 5 on the bay about a month ago from Singapore. Had it sent to my buddy's place (in Sing) but my buddy was out of the country and the post office had it sent back to the seller. Buddy's here in Manila now and will be having lunch tomorrow (later actually). Have contacted the seller and would most likely have it resent to my buddy's place (for an additional $3... oh well...). Here are some pics (not mine of course).

Likewise, another buddy who was looking for a sub $500 watch asked for advice. Told him about my Black Monster and other choices like the Orient Makos. he sent me an SMS today. he saw an Orient New Mako at a local AD. was selling for $140 since it was one of the last remaining pieces. I had my eye on the blue New Mako but all they had was a black. But for the price, i'd take that any day. however, that was the last piece. and my buddy bought it (together with an Orange Monster). But the AD said they could get from their stock at the head office and wold arrive at the AD on Monday. I'm definitely getting it!

hopefully i get these babies before the month ends! wooohoo!!!! :)

Finally got the Hogrider!
Huge watch!!! Awesome!!!!
just a quick review:
Pros: again, huge watch! love the weight! i somehow like the stainless borders on the indices -- reflects light from different indices creating a somewhat sparkiling look.
Cons: i own a Black Monster too and the bracelet of the Hogrider is (for a lack of a better term) more "flimsy" than the metal bracelet of the BM. But this can easily be remedied through aftermarket Straps! the bezel is hard to turn too unlike the Monster's smooth movement (but maybe the Monster's too smooth). lastly, as mentioned again in reviews of the new mako, the lume is really sucky! and if you look closely on the hour/minute markers, you can see the uneven application of the luminous material.

i have yet to record its accuracy (since no hacking, can't really say how may saeconds it gains / loses -- i haven't logged the time yet versus the USNO Master clock).

but overall, still very happy with it!!! :)
