Got these 2 incoming and vaguely described by both sellers respectively.

A 6139-7010 and a 6139-6009.As I wait I'm not sure if I should be excited or just save that for the unboxing What do you guys think?

The 7010 is unusual and I really like it. The bezel-less or “thin” (I think is the term) 6139s are really cool. Great Resist dial too! You have some restorations coming up!

Not sure about the bezel but I really liked seeing those numerals on the dial. Reminds me of military watches. And if I'm not mistaken I remember reading the 7010/7011 are the only 6139s made with Arabic numerals. Makes it a bit more special.

But let's be completely honest the best part about vintage purchases nowadays is the gunk built up. That thing is gold takes years to get that kind of DNA cocktail. Would be a sad moment scrapping it off.

Oh man, I am with you all the way borgsauce, all that DNA and personal material all around the bezel and case flanges just screams originality. I am lovin' that 6139-6009 too. You just dont see that many resist dialed pieces with a 2 piece large seconds hand, that makes it all the more special to the owner. Both pieces are very nice indeed and will be beauties when they get home from the spa !!

I stand to be corrected, but I think the 7010 is one of the rarest 6139s, being, as noted, the only one with numerals and it was made only for the Japanese military officers. A silver dialed version also exists. Great find.

Agree with you 100%!...the ones you have there in particular have aged rather beautifully, and deserve to be kept untouched...they're very nice, and I like them as is!

Btw, you're really fortunate to bag that rare 7010...if I'm not mistaken, they had a very short production run...Feb to April '70!

Congrats!

Great find on original bracelets! The 7010 original bracelets are few and far between.
They should clean up nicely!

6139-6009 just came in today after a long wait. I was told by a friend of mine that the insert on this one is AM. But seeing how all that gunk has accumulated around the insert and that it sits perfectly all around the bezel, I just don't see how its AM. What do you guys think? I'm particularly confused about the 220 and 200 markers, the 2 seems to drop across what looks to be a second slant. This slant is even throughout the circumference of the insert.

Other than that im quite satisfied with the rest of this watch. It's proving to be a PIA to get that caseback to open. It won't budge at all!
