For the unfamiliar it may be interesting to know that 100% pure gold is 24 karat. 18 karat is 18/24 = 75% hence the 750.
14 karat is 14/24 = 58,5% hence the 585.
The cash value of gold in juwelry is 80% maximum as it will need to be melted an purified.
Thus the cash value of gold in a watch head or bracelet is:
weight x spot price x %purity x 80%
14k = 58.5% only and at 80% you are looking at <half spot price.
At the moment it is 38$ per gram so 14k cash value is 18$ per gram max.
B aware that it is tricky to estimate the gold weight since gold cases were/are often made thinner than ss cases to save on gold and so keep the list price down.
