Saw this in a sales post so the Turtle is REALLY rare ? :)

*There many model 6309 in the market, but not most are not the original "TURTLE" model divers. THIS IS AN AUTHENTIC "TURTLE" 6309-7040 DIVER. The price will be higher on a 6309 Turtle as its rarity and value is considerably higher then a spare parts model.
THE 6309 REPLACED THE EARLIER MODE 6105. IT IS A THICKER AND HEAVIER DIVER WITH A TERRIFIC WRIST FEEL. IT WAS ONLY PRODUCED FOR THE JAPANESE MARKET AND EUROPE. It is a quickly disappearing and a wonderful timepiece.

Who wouldn't want to own a disappearing watch? I wonder if it used to belong to David Copperfield?

That means that all of the ones in North America are EXCEPTIONALLY rare as they never even existed. Mine appears out of the mist every seven days like Brigadoon.

the Claims people trying to sell watches make are fun, I like how every "in demand" model on ebay says "RARE!" in the description.

All the ones from Mumbai etc seem to be rare too, even though some sellers have 2 or 3 pieces of the same models :-D

I usually skip anything with "turtle" in the FS title. :)
