I think you are all being much too harsh. I would be perfectly happy to have this watch in my collection, at the right price.

To that end I have submitted a formal, binding offer for the watch, as below:-

$3.50 is way too much. You are being overly generous. Oh wait I see that your offer includes free expedited international shipping. OK then your offer is about right then :)

I repair and restore Citizen watches. I would never put a watch up for sale with the inner bezel data ring out of alignment with the dial face. But, then again, Citizen watches are inherently a better design.

I'd be very curious if it would pass muster with Ebay's authentication service - it would go to them before being delivered to the customer.

“Vintage watches which are verified as authentic by the third-party authentication partner may contain replacement parts that are not from the original manufacturer if the original manufacturer no longer makes that part. “

Considering the terms and condition from eBay looks like they may let this pos through.

OMG that is such a horrendous policy. You are right this will qualify.

If they properly authenticate, and that is in their policy, then they should know what after market parts are use, and have them listed in bold in the title.

More poor form from Ebay imo
I reported it as having fake dial, hands, and inner bezel. I also wrote to the seller and asked him if he was crazy?

Imagine virgin buyers of vintage Rolex, and the horrendous losses they'd take (and have done, and will continue to do)

I used to collect 5513/1680/1665/6263 models (prior to a messy divorce) and even back then (early 2000's) there were so many AM parts available, mainly out of Vietnam, that were so good that Christies and Phillips auction houses used to miss sooooo many it wasn't funny

Caveat emptor, hey

I'm glad to see somebody else does this besides myself - especially when you receive unsolicited discount offers, simply because you're watching some over-priced P.o.S. (y)

I don't think Ebay's 'authentication policy applies to watches that are of less than 200.00 USD in value.

It’s listed at a fixed price of $2,084.00 US.
It doesn’t matter what it’s actually worth. The policy is based on the selling price. Therefore, ebay’s “authenticity guarantee” is in play.

If you're lolo enough to spend anywhere near 2K for that piece of kukae watch, you'll need to break out of your restraints, and scale the walls of the asylum to pick it up. Ebay doesn't even mention Seiko as a 'luxury' watch. Rolex, Breitling, Tag Heuer, but no Seiko.

Slight detour and my apologies but I just completed a shipment order from my buying/proxy service Buyee in Japan. Buyee was preparing the customs declaration for a 1960's Seiko 5 watch I won at auction and listed it as "Luxury Watch". I am OK with paying fair and reasonable customs/import duties but perhaps "Luxuy" is not the proper category. I changed the classification from "luxury" to simply "used mens watch (no battery)". No need to pay more duties/fees than is neccessary :)

I’m not sure what your point is…. We here know that watch is a Franken. I was just explaining ebay’s authentication policy. I don’t think the word luxury is mentioned in the policy. Also, Seiko DOES make some luxury watches. There are members here, who are lucky enough to own some of them.

I was not exactly sure what "Luxury" means so I looked it up. I thought it meant expensive but:

Luxury is the state of great comfort and extravagant living.
