I acquire an Orient Fineness Ultramatic, 35 jewels from Japan but can't set its day date. It seems to have only one position with crown and in which only direct the hands. Any idea what it would be, or my watch is not in good order ? Thanks.

I don't think this Orient model has the quick-set feature for the date. You have to turn the crown CW until the hands go past 12 MN to increase the date. Then CCW to change the day of the week. Here's a link:
