Hi all, I was recently in Israel where I fulfilled one of my long-time ambitions (along with many others!) - to visit the watch collection at the Museum for Islamic Art in Jerusalem.
The whole place is fascinating, filled with unique historical artifacts and information about the Middle East but the watch collection is absolutely stunning. Where else can you see the unique Marie Antoinette watch made for the French Empress by Loius Breguet - it took almost 40 years to make and by the time it was completed, both marie Antoinette and Louis Breguet were dead. It paid to get your orders in well in advance in those days!
The story about the theft and recent recovery of many of those watches in the collection is also astounding.

I highly recommend it!
