Hi,
This is my first post as I have just got my first seiko watch. After years of getting replicas and swatches, it is exciting to find that there are reliable and interesting genuine watches to be bought.
The moonphase fits in nicely with my interest in astronomy too.
One thing I cant work out though is the manufacture date of my particular watch. It is an automatic hexagonal moonphase seiko 5 with a date at the 6 o'clock position. 23 jewels and stainless steel surrounding a blue watch face with a gold mount.
I know from the calculator that it is april of either 73, 83, or 93.

The numbers are 6349-5240 and serial number 340111.
I would have thought that the hexagonal shape might be helpful as an anachronism, but cant find anything on any site.
If anyone can help, I'd be grateful. :)

Hi there and welcome to the SCWF!

I am not fully familiar with the manufacturing dates of calibre 6349, but I am pretty certain it will be from the 80s.

Best,
Hermann
