Recently came into possession of my fathers Seiko 5 Rally Sport [6119 7173] from around 1971. Hasn’t been worn in many years. When he set it, it ran but won’t keep time. Local watch guy can’t repair since it’s discontinued so he said he would have trouble getting parts for the mechanism. I’d really like to get it up and running as it’s a cool watch and has some history to it. I’ve reached out to some places online but looking for any advice I can get. I’m guessing Seiko service will be no help.

Nice to hear you want to get your Dad's old watch ticking again.

Since you are in the USA I suggest you try these 2 top notch vintage Seiko restorers - I have used them both with great results:

@Vette Enthusiast

@zeke441

Until you post enough you won't be able to start a private message conversation, so hopefully one of them will see this and reach out to you. Good luck !
