Well, I'm always grateful to have a job. So grateful that I haven't really complained that all bonuses and raises have been on hold for a year and a half for the entire company. But it appears that the long drought may finally be over!


So, the good news: The wife today, out of the blue, said that if I get a bonus I can buy "a watch"


The bad news: I can't buy a Tuna. It's too "expensive" and "ugly".






I just don't know what she's going to say when she sees it on my wrist then. Well, if not a Tuna, then what?

I started a thread about this at PMWF, but Seiko advertising for this 6106 line includes the -8237 - some of their other advertising text calls it the "Daredevil Diver". So, what makes a diver? Is it only a diver if it has a rotating bezel whether internal or external?

Well, I'm at work, so this is the only piece I could find quickly - it's on my Flickr. I believe you have the same one. There's the -8237 right next to that beautiful orange-faced lovely - the "Super Sports Series". When I'm home I'll find the "Daredevil" page. Like you it's probably a marketing gimmick that isn't really based in reality, but I'm sure at least one person bought an -8237 on the strength of it's water resistance however...

wow! Look at the 8237 with a razor blade bracelet! I've been looking for the other kind for mine - didn't know I could use that variety! Great post!
