This is a PAINFUL sale for me!
I thought I’d never sell this after searching high and low for it but I need to give it up for another grail. So up for sale now is my ‘mint’ Bullhead – by ‘mint’ I mean it is in excellent original condition considering it is unrestored.
I bought this from an avid Bullhead collector in the UK who had 7 (yes seven) of these (5 bronze, 2 black). It has minor dings and marks which are very minimal considering that this is an unrestored 40+ year old mint example. The case still retains it’s original lines and still looks quite sharp where polished meets brushed steel. You can see from the pictures that the original machined case lines are still visibly sharp. The original Z040 bracelet also has slight signs of wear and exhibits some stretch but still quite comfortable and remains smart looking - it has the wider top tapered links specific to this model. The original crystal has one or two scratches that are barely visible but they’re there. Print from the dial and the bezel are crisp and there is no fading or aging except for the light patina that the indices are developing. You can see from the pictures that the dial and hands even look new. The watch is running fine although I have not really timed it. All chronograph functions are working properly and smartly resetting to zero. The bezel also has a few marks but you can see that these don’t really affect the overall ‘still fresh’ look of the watch - some non-WIS admirers of the watch actually mistake it for a new model.
I have worn this watch in rotation but I have absolutely ‘babied’ it. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.
