Now, these watches don't come up for sale very often: Seiko's first real diver. The watch that started it all. As the title says: a May 1967 Seiko 6217-8001, sometimes called 62MAS. I bought the watch last year from a well respected Seiko collectioner in Scandinavia. After receiving the watch, I sent it to Richard Askham for a service. The reason I'm selling it are: (a) It doesn't get any wrist time (b) I'm saving money for something very expensive (BP FF-ish).
The watch comes with the sought after Seiko waffle strap. The strap is in good condition, although, these straps are old and can give up without a warning. I think the waffle is more or less 'ceremonial' . Second: although it's a divers watch, I wouldn't go diving with it. But we all understand why, I think.
The asking price of this watch is $1600.00 Or a very serious offer. The price Includes the strap (deduct $ 125.00 if you want the watch without the strap), including paypal fees and insured shipping in Europe. Sending money outside Paypal, using EBAN inside Europecan be discussed.
I'm not often selling a watch, but you can find me on the sales forum of the SCWF too.
