This Seiko automatic chronograph is one of the very last of this model, manufactured in March 1978, shortly before production of 6139s was stopped. This is shown by the serial number (first digits 83 represent the year and month of manufacture). The watch is marked Water Resistant on the caseback, as per the 1970s models of Seiko 6139s.

Movement is in good condition and working perfectly - it keeps decent time, day and date change and quickset as they should, the chronograph functions work and reset to zero snappily.
The inner rotating bezel has faded to a silver-grey (as is very common with this model) but it still clearly legible, it rotates smoothly over the whole 360 degrees.

Dial is in pristine condition and there is very slight darkening of the luminous material on the minutes hand.
The day wheel is english/roman.

Case, bezel and crystal are in very good condition especially considering the age of this watch.
Case is high quality solid stainless steel and in very good condition - most of the factory brushing/polishing is still visible and the edges are sharp with only slight signs of use.
This watch has never been polished - keep in mind that a polished watch might look nicer but the original lines can never be restored once they are gone!
Please look at the high resolution photos for a clear idea of the condition of this watch.

The watch is on an original Seiko rubber strap which is not, however, original to the watch (these watches came on a bracelet)

The caseback imprint is clear.
