I find the 6r15 better in many areas:
Hack
Hand wind
Better factory regulation (My 2 6r15s are in the -3/+4 secs per day arena... COSC like performance)
Better finishing of the movement
Better power reserve/accuracy thanks to the use of Seiko's Spron 510 mainspring material (50-55 hours power reserve vs 40ish in the 7S)
You get to pay for those goodies. The 7S26b is decent and probably sufficient for most people. But the 6r15 brings the 7s to a whole new world of accuracy and refinement, well worth the premium.
