Is this a new conventional auto cronograph movement for Seiko? Or is this "automatic" actually a spring drive?

This is a purely mechanical chronograph caliber from Seiko. It was introduced back in 2008 and it is significant on that it is the first 3-6-9 Seiko mechanical chronograph slated for export markets in more than 30 years.

This one uses the Caliber 8R28A with the following specs:

34 jewels
292 hand assembled components
-15/+25 secs per day accuracy
28,800 BPH
Spron 510 Mainspring material
45 hours power reserve
12 hour chronograph
Column Wheel
Vertical Clutch
3-Pointed hammer component for instant hand reset (Flyback feature)

The Ananta Spring Drive Chronograph uses the 5r86 spring drive movement with GMT function, 72 hours power reserve, 50 jewels and a 12 hour chronograph.

Awesome!

I just noticed the pattern is different on each subdial...cool.
Is it really? I can't see that in Franks pics...what I do see are the different borders though. I'll take a look at more photo's online this evening. The dial on this watch is very sharp.
