Honestly, it doesn’t seem that far fetched. There is nothing like it these days (in quartz) from Seiko or others.
Quick quiz, anybody know what watch can I buy new today, in quartz, at that technical level ? And by that I mean full metal movement, trimmer for adjustment, easy and fully serviceable. And that’s not to mention the rest of the build, the history, the iconic design. If yes, what is that watch and how much it costs ?
So I guess it depends how you look at it. I have one, the black version without the SQ logo. I tell you, it is something else, nothing like anything we have today. Frankly I always thought they were very underpriced for what they are, even when I paid $250 it seemed like a bargain, while others even then thought it was too much.
