I asked about this watch over at WUS, got excited about the feedback and ordered one. To my surprise, I ordered it on Friday night and on the next Tuesday afternoon it was here! All the way from Hong Kong

!!! It was the first time I used FedEx and I was honestly surprised with their service.

My initial feeling about the rubber/plastic strap was that it was only "kind of comfortable", and I think I felt this way because I'm only used to metal bracelets on my divers - all of them are on metal. But if you noted I wrote felt, because after a few days wearing the watch I have to say the strap is very comfortable. I guess it was just a matter of it breaking in, and wearing it as I type this, I now would say it's pretty nice on the wrist.

Here are a couple of pics comparing the NY0054 size-wise to the Sumo and BFK. As you can see, it's on the small side, and since the case is Ti and the strap is rubber/plastic, it's the lightest of all my divers, and one of the lightest of all my watches. I know many like a hefty watch, but I at least like a light watch, specially if it's going to be a beater.

The case back is pretty plain, nothing to write home about. Can anyone interpret the serial number? I doubt that you can read it the same way as you read Seiko's serial numbers, and I'm curious to know when my watch was made

The only thing I didn't like about it is that the bezel has some vertical play. Nothing major, but it is noticeable, and it's a bit odd for me, since it's the only watch that I have where the bezel behaves like this. But when you turn it it clicks solidly, just like on my Seikos. At first I thought that the lume wasn't very good, but I after a few days I think differently; the lume is VERY good! Seiko good in fact! I made a few lume shots comparing to some other watches I have, and if anyone wants to see I'll show the pics later.
But the best I reserved for last: when I got it, I set it to an atomic clock and 48 hours later it was running exactly 5 seconds fast! I couldn't believe it, but right out of the box the Myota 8203 is COSC-good! I know the movement needs to break in, but I still think that is pretty good.
Overall, I would say that's a very nice watch for just $93,60
