I just remembered I had this and have had the glass refinished.

I think there was only one endpiece so filed out these to fit.

Probably not worth me refinishing anymore (overhauled the movement) apart from sanding/buffing the back.

What year would it be from?

Well that is a rare bird...one of my top 5 watches....
Just like the last one
Restore this to the highest standards and u will be rewarded well
Do not refinish this one
Leave it is as...the honest wear and tear will sell it
The dial and hands need resume properly and crystal needs polished
Original band is also very hard to find
Can not wait to see this done
I think Harold has these bezel inserts now that Alex is out of stock
God Bless,John

This is as good as it's getting from me.

I've done the movement and I've had the glass refinished (as new now).

Guys will either love it (i.e. you guys!) or hate it.

Nice find. I have had about half a dozen Citizens from this era.

They were all bear up.

They were much harder to research and get info on than 60s/70s Seikos.

Parts were impossible to find.

I like them a lot.
I’ve got several Citizen divers from this era, all working fine fortunately.
I think demand and prices are only going to increase from here on...

I’ve been trying to get any info regarding the 62-6198 & saw this thread , just thought I would share some pictures of mine . I think it’s a 74 model but could well be wrong .

That's in great condition, CPR! Has it had a relume?

At that time Citizen was following Seiko's serial numbering system, so yes, it would appear your watch was made in March, 1974.

I did a tongue-in-cheek Citizen v. Seiko dive watch comparison featuring this model about 20 years ago. You can find it at http://pippick.com/reviews/diversfaceoff.htm .

Thank you , as far as I know it’s not had a re lume & if it has it’s one of the best I’ve ever seen. The guy I bought it off said he had bought it over 20 yrs ago , wore it a couple of times & kept it in a drawer as it felt too big on him .

I have been collecting vintage Citizen divers for a few years. They don't get the recognition that Seiko's do.... but I like them.
Here's a couple of mine:
