In the late 70s, Citizen continued their classic diver designs into the quartz era. Often with multiple choices of hands and dials but still rather conservative. I especially like this Sports diver model, which manages to stay rather dressy while still being a diver. I think the slim hour markers edges with chrome and the sports (rather than diver) style bezel are the main references here. Purchased with a bracelet, which could be original, or at least period, these watches are often great on chunky brown or black leather straps as well.
petew had a catalogue post on GMT+9 with a 1980 Citizen catalogue including these Sports Divers and their bigger brother the Crystron Diver. As you can see from the catalogue, the Sports diver was priced at JPY 35,000 (which seems rather steep to me) and the Crystron Diver at JPY 45,000. BTW, the strap on those Crystron looks amazing. I should find one for the Sports Diver if I need to make it look like a proper diver.
