Just passing on very interesting news news I read on the Blog to Watch site -

this might even be breaking forum rules now! How would you class these - Japanese watches of Swiss origin or vice versa? :)

Very interesting read, Campanola seems to be analogous to Seiko's Credor line.
No worries about the rules though - Citizen is a Japanese company and it owns La Joux-Perret.
Citizen owns the movement company, so how Swiss this makes them, aside from the physical location, is up for discussion.

That's a discussion we're often having here in the states (where every firm/company is up for sale, or ready to leave the country these days).

But given that La Joux-Perret is a long storied Swiss concern, w/ Swiss manufacturing facilities, employees, & design/engineering departments (none of which have been altered since the change of ownership), I'm pretty comfortable calling their products Swiss movements.

(hows THAT for a run-on sentence!)
Outstanding example of a run on sentence. Mine pales in comparison.
