Well as i'm in a posting mood I might as well put my my 6139 projects on here. I have several in various states of disrepair. The black 6139-6010 runs well and will just need some work on the case and a new crystal oh and new seals as the reset button is stuck. The blue 6012 just needs new seals as although the watch works great there no seals present on the pushers or crown and case back. When it arrived it had an horrible plastic crystal which I change for a serviceable original, it will also need a pear shaped red minute hand. The 7020 speedtimer needs the movement swapping out for my spare which I have cleaned as the center wheel clutch is slipping. I have a NOS crystal for it (thanks Stefan). The 6002's both work very well although the one on the right needs redialing. Finally the 6005 which is my spare. Most importantly they all have the bezel rotating gears lol. Enjoy

The 6139's can become addictive so beware:biggrin:

Most of their problems arise from owners misuse and bodging but when you start poking about with them you appreciate their intelligent, robust design and ease of maintenance that allows for relatively easy repair.
well those look great...but i am told they are very complicated to work on..cant wait to see how these get restored...
Looks like fun 2stroker. Some great watches.

I'm on my third 6139 (with a fourth in pieces for spare parts) and I love them. I'm just starting to experiment with replacing crystals/pushers etc, but I have to leave the real work to my watch guy.
still not brave enough to take a 6138 apart yet lol

It's not so bad! Well, it's the same as 6139 balance side, just another layer of fun on the dial side.
A super fine collection you've got going....hmmm I'm sure I have some to sell that you would like....
Just thinking, do you have a timegrapher? If not and you've been thinking about it then I can highly recommend grabbing the one clement is selling, at a ridiculously low price. It is the same model as I have and I really do not know how I managed without it.

I like your style. I'm big into the 6138 and 6139s.
Don't have a timegrapher mmm suppose i better get one lol
i'm telling fibs of course. I've got one although it's not as high spec as Clements and yes 130 euro's is a great deal
newly acquired 6139

loving this combo. 6139-6012 on a new nato.

that does look very nice i have to say. hope I can get mine looking as good :)
looks great
Finally got around to sprucing up my 6010. It was mainly cosmetic with only a NOS crystal a freeing off of the seized buttons and re-seal all round being required and a bit of a polish. Looks pretty good now :). Cleaned the bracelet while i was at it.

Gentlemen, I have a 6139-6005 blue faced Pepsi that I bought NEW in 1972 that had lost its crown, (in 1982) and has been in the safe since, it also needs a good service since it has not had one since new. Please help me get this favorite back on my wrist ! Any parts for sale or any suggestions would be hugely appreciated, Jim
2stroker-
I totally lost my head for a minute and should have told you how beautiful your 6010 is ! Honestly, it is amazing and may be one of the most beautiful Seiko Chronometers I have ever seen. It makes my 6005 look totally rag-tag. Actually my 6139-6005 is in amazing original shape except for the couple of problems I am trying to sort out now. 1. The lost crown (could the stem and gear wheel still be in the watch ?) 2. The minute hand has lost a small chunk of the luminous material and now has a "see through" hole where the lume is missing. 3. Seals ? The watch needs to be freshened up since it really hasn't been touched since new. 4. Lube and Service.

Please, anyone ! I have been having a hard finding advice, direction and suggestions on how to find parts and get reputable service so I can wear my favorite watch again. I have owned it 42 years and worn it on my wrist less than 10 of those years. Thanks for ANY suggestions and help, I trust you all have knowledge to share, thanks for helping !

Tom Hickman (thickman808, he postet above) does service and repairs for Seiko chronos. I do believe he has spare original parts for your watch. Look for hickmanwatches using the search machine of your choice or send him a PM.

My two 6002s are soon on their way to him.
