expected to have to do all the usual resetting of the digital time etc, but when I replaced the battery, not in any hurry, the digital display did not reset to 12h00 as I expected, it resumed where it had left off. The date also stayed correct. No resetting needed Huh? Am I going nuts?

Are you SURE you changed the battery?

Maybe there was enough juice left in a capacitor to keep it going.
