I have it for around a year now, got it serviced and restored, and currently is one of my favorite vintages. But since I didn't open it, I don't have a clue to what movement it has :-X . I totally forgot to ask my watchsmith about it when I sent it in, so now I have to scamper info about it on the watch forums.

Hi Luciano,

I'm far from a Mido expert, but I would guess, that this one already has an ETA based movement in. That's nothing negative, as previous movements have been based on AS movements (well, sometimes a bit modified in a way that adds value to a strict collector).
I'd suggest you open it yourself and post a pic.
If your watchmaker did a good job you should be able to open it with a piece of wood and a double adhesive. (the smiley might be misleading, as it very often works, and real watchmaker will never tighten the caseback too much!).

Seriously, it is near to impossible to tell you certainly, which movement exactly is working in that watch, unless someone has the same.
It could, for example be a Mido 757CD (ETA 2678), but who knows?

Axel, I did try to google whatever info I could about it, and from similar models I also think it's probably an ETA, or at the most a "midolized" ETA. I'm hesitant of trying to open it in fear of screwing something up .

Hi Luciano, if you try to open it the soft way I described (i.e. using a double tape, clue it to the case back and ptrdding s pirce of wood on), I cannot see any way of screwing up something. However it might be the better way for you to send every information to mido.ch. In the past they turned up to be helpful!)

That's an idea! Didn't think they would answer somebody asking question about a vintage and unimportant model.

We had some discussions about old Commanders in a German speaking Forum and they provided production dates for every serial number that some members sent them.
