Long shot.

I am looking for ways to create a shim for a bezel insert. Locating a correct part is not going to happen, so i wondering if anyone had any tricks to produce/simulate one?

Thanks

For a 6309? I might have an old one if you want it. It's not quite flat but maybe tidying it up is easier than making a new one from scratch?

You can also try to source adhesive stickers (instead of glue) for your bezel size and stack them. Don't know about water resistance of those, though.

I don't know where I read about them, but I guess it was here somewhere.

Thanks guys.

The problem i have is that the i need it to be very 'slim' - with the i/d only approx 2mm smaller than the o/d. The shim has to slimmer than the actual insert.

I will take some measurements.

Thanks

Easy enough to mark out and scribe through thin plastic or metal shim using one of these:-

(just make sure you do the outside first ;) )

You could buy a sheet of engineers shim which will come in sizes ranging from .002" upwards and then cut it out like John recommends.
