Nice rescue John, there was talk of hal0eight 3D printing some pushers for these a few days ago - I'm not sure if it was just talk or whether it will happen though.
I saw that Duncan but i doubt if the finish will be nice enough ? I think some machined ones out of Acetal (perhaps a set of stainless as well) could perhaps be better ?Nice rescue John, there was talk of hal0eight 3D printing some pushers for these a few days ago - I'm not sure if it was just talk or whether it will happen though.
The 7040/9 is one of my favorite 7As, I received another one in the package with this and also a 7A28-7029 which are now running as wellI just was looking at a couple of those on eBay because I was using 7A28 as a search criteria. There were a couple mint examples with the boxes and all. Completely insane prices! Definitely a watch worth spending the time on to get it back on its feet again. Having just received my 7A28-7049 I have instantly fell in love with the design and function of the 7A28 and its twin the 7A38. Looking around there are not a lot of them around to be had.

I guess it's a good thing that they are hard to fix and many shy away from the ones listed as "for parts only" I'm a gambler and I am amazed how many most of the different model quartz Seiko chronograph that I have bought as "for parts only" that I was able to get up and running within a hour. I get a real dud now and then but that just leaves me with extra dials and bracelets to build a custom chronograph! The 7040/9 is one of my favorite 7As, I received another one in the package with this and also a 7A28-7029 which are now running as well![]()
