I know that Seiko delete parts after about 8 years, but I am in need of some old links.

After a long wait and a lot of searching I located what I needed to get my 6138-7000 Sliderule Chronograph going, and it should be back from a full service in the next few days.

The problem that remains is that the bracelet is too short. I know I can add a clasp extension, but I'd like it to be right with additional links.

Is there anyone who regularly stocks parts for these older watches?

Photos of the top and back of the bracelet would help. One must bear in mind that Seiko sold many models with more than one bracelet over the span of the model's sales life.

There are no repositories to speak of when it comes to straps and bracelets. These parts were generally not stocked by material houses. A few material houses still have some stock in other casing and movement parts despite them being discontinued for decades.

There are, however, a few of us crazies who have been amassing Seiko parts inventories and include some bracelets and links. If you can post a few photos, I'll try to help.

My watch has just been serviced by the Rolex authorised dealer in Kokomo, Indiana and was to have been shipped "by the end of the week", which should have been yesterday.

As soon as it arrives I'll provide photos of the watch and bracelet.

Your bracelet is one of those whose links are next to impossible to find, though there might be some out there someplace.

This style of bracelet is one of the many from that era that were highly susceptible to stretch and worn pins early in their lives. When these became unsafe to use, within the first two to three years, they were discarded by their owners in favor of straps, Twist-O-Flex or other styles of attachment.

Just yesterday I worked on two of these. One is remarkably undamaged and needed but a bit of refinishing. The other was worn for several years and had nearly a half-inch of stretch. I was able to remove a bit of the stretch but I believe it would be unwise to use this bracelet due to unknown thinning of the connecting pins.

Your bracelet appears to have minimal stretch. I recommend you purchase an extender so you can wear and enjoy this wonderful timepiece as you search for the few links you need.
