Like most of us i use Borels to check for part #s and availability but is it possible to do it the other way ? by that i mean is there a way to put in a specific part # and then see what movement/model it fits ? cheers

I haven't tried running a search that way, but IIRC, when you pull up a specific part, borel will show you a list of movements/models that use it.

Thats right Gabe but i want to put a part in that i have and see what it fits, i dont know if that is possible, for example i have a NOS crown # 60W14NSI and i wanted to see for what models it is.
It never returns results for me when I use the part number for some reason.

It never has for me either, i wondered if some one knew how or it perhaps isent possible.
So thinking about it, I believe their search only works against their online catalog which looks like it is some from of pdf document.

All the old Seiko items are not in that catalogue.

If you can find only one model for which this crown is for, search casing parts for that model, then click on the crown as Gabe suggested to see what other models uses said crown. Otherwise, no, I don't believe you can back-search from part number to case reference. Borel's website, as invaluable as it is, should always be taken with a grain of salt. Gaps, redundancies, omissions, and errors are common- some logic and sleuthing must be used when referring to it, and the hard copies that Seiko published are the best bet for getting what you want, although I just had a problem with that too the other day. Looked up a casing spring for a 6138-0030 on Seiko's micro-fiche, ordered the part (not from Borel), and received the correct part number in genuine package- it was a casing ring, not spring. I've yet to sort this out, but most likely the casing parts guide had an error originally, switching casing spring with casing ring. If any one needs a casing ring, though...:)
