Very possibly, this is the first time you're seeing this watch, since it's a Brazilian market watch and was discontinued a few years ago. Besides that, this was a SE model, and only 29 (!!) were made O0 .

This is the RM1, a commemorative edition of the Brazilian Relógios Mecânicos forum (FRM). Just like the RM2, the FRM's members chose a model out of Orient Brazil's catalog and the watch was personalized. Only 29 were produced, and each one had a special dial and case back - mine is #05.

The movement is Orient's in-house 46943 with 21 jewels, and the case is water resistant up to 50 m.

The crystal is mineral glass and the tonneau case measures 36 x 39,6 mm, and is only 12,3 mm high. The strap is leather, with a deployant clasp, with the company logo engraved on the buckle.

Ever since I joined FRM I was after this watch, specially because I had the RM2. The project was created before I joined the forum in 2007, so the only way to get one would be if some of the older members decided to sell theirs. Fortunately for me, last week one of the 29 original owners decided to sell his, and now I have both.

Wow, Luciano thats really special this one. I really like it too.
I've always wanted to see the RM1, posted requests, but you bring it to me here. 8)

Yes, I'm interested to find one myself now. ;D

Thanks for sharing this nice rare gem. ;)

Cheers, Dave.

Thanks guys!
Besides being a really nice watch, it's the only tonneau in my watch box, so it's quite striking. The only problem I'm having with it is the clasp. My ogrish hand doesn't fit through the strap with the clasp in position, so I have to totally open it and strap it over my wrist, like if the strap had a normal buckle.

fab looking watch(es)!
I wonder how can orient Brazil make money by only producing 29 watches for this edition?
I mean they can't be charging too much for the Orient.
Time,

Of course these watches were/are produced in large scale. But they (Orient) picked out a limited number in both issues for dial and caseback personalization for the relogios mecanicos forumers. So the stock versions of these 2 watches have different dial colors and lack the commemorative inscription on the caseback and the LIMITED SERIES number (like LUW's 05/29).

As for prices, can't say much about the RM1 stock version, since I don't own one. But in the RM2 (or Poseidon, as it got nicknamed in its stock persona) case I can assure you it's currently being sold for around 400 usd (today's exchange). The RM2/Poseidon is ONE HECK OF A WATCH! Talk about massive beast! Ultimate bang for the money, IMO.

CHRIS

Hehe...tell me about it! I got crazy on that one! Managed to score 1 LE version (RM2 yellow dialed, just like Dave Sharkfin's) and then I bought all dial colors! LOL!! Ended up with 4 model variations - yellow, orange, black with black bezel and black with coke bezel. 8)
It rivals the ecozilla in beefyness...only the dial face is bigger on the Orient. Size and heft wise they are about the same. And the solid bracelet on the Orient is outstading, lemme tell you. The rubber strap is top notch, too.
