Hello Watch Wizards!

I have a question about the newest watch I got.

It's a Seiko Black Bullet - I was very happy to finally see it in the store! It's pristine. The only issue I have is the tag. In ALL the Seiko's I got recently (about 5 divers, in a couple of months) - the number on the Tag matches with the Serial Number on the caseback. This one doesn't. I got it from the same store - it's a big nationwide chain of stores, present in the biggest malls in the country. They issue international warranty cards, and the manager told me that they are classified as an Authorized Dealer.

Should I be worried about this?

Thank you for your responses!

Are you sure it's the serial number and not the case number? The serial number will be a 6 digit number while the caseback number will be 7s26-xxxx.

I can't even imagine the logistics of trying to put actual serial numbers on hang tags that are probably even made in different plants :-\

Yup, I think it should be the serial number, based on my experience with the other watches I got from the same store. I asked a WIS about this and he conjectured it could be a mix up among tags of the same model - it's attached by a flimsy string.

The watch looks legit, though. Too bad I can't post pics on Photobucket - something's wrong with the site. I can't click the Upload Photos button since yesterday. I'll see if I can post pictures of the tag and the serial number later today.

Thanks, guys!

Maybe this is some kind of inventory system used by the store? I've never seen a serial number on a hang tag. I don't know why you would even want to put a serial number on the hang tag. Most times I don't even get a hang tag even on new watches.

These are the pics... finally got my photo account to work.

Apparently, the other watches in the store don't match... so probably I got lucky with my previous watches, with matching numbers! Maybe they changed their inventory system or something?

the serial number on your watch has nothing to do with the numbers on the tag.
Those are bar codes for the shop's inventory.

The watch looks fine.

Thank you all, Pete, nhoJ, and Time!

That's comforting to know! I feel better about this watch already, and I'm liking it even more!

Here are the rest of the pics.
