I have a potential buyer for the Casio Oceanus OCW-M7000 I put on the SCTF last October.
However, he is worried about the risk of the usual SCTF money upfront policy [Update] I meant practice, not policy (Thanks nhoJ!).
Since I had a lot of pleasant (I hope) watch transactions with several forum members in the past,
I thought I might ask for your feedback on my reputation as a SCTF seller.
Thank you!

> The buyer wanted you to ship the watch before you received payment?

He wanted to perform the transaction via eBay, because he was worried about sending money upfront without guarantee.
In my opinion, using eBay brings in a risk for the seller in form of possible abuse of the eBay/PayPal buyer protection.
I remember several threads on the SCWF about that.

Doing it via eb$y doesn't make much sense, but using Paypal seems pretty straightforward. I do the latter all the time. Other than the fees, I haven't had any problems.

Good lucK!

The obvious is that, if you specified a particular payment method in your FS ad, the option is yours to grant exceptions or refuse the seller's offer. Your contemplating not adhering to your specified payment method may indicate (1) your need to sell the watch quickly, (2) the lack of competing offers, or (3) you're just a nice guy. JMHO. ;D

Michael, I've never bought a watch from you but I'd say that judging by your valued and knowledgable contributions to the forum over many years, you're a stand-up guy. I'd have no qualms dealing with you.

I think that I encountered the same guy who was looking for a MM SBDX001. He seemed so nervous of buying a watch from sales forum and kept on asking me to put my MM on Ebay so that he could buy it "securelyal. Eventhough I directed him to a few references and asked him to google me, he still believed that the safest way to purchase a watch was from Ebay.

Hence I gave him 4 active Ebay auctions for MM SBDX001 so that he could buy one conveniently. Not sure if he did buy one from those Ebay auctions; I will check with him later.

Regards,
Kucimo

Thank you Sir Les for the kind words, and you all for the valuable input.
However, it is a little embarassing that none of the forumers who bought a watch from me in the past replied to this thread. ???

Guys, where are you?

Oh well, time flies by, and it was only a handful watches over the years, to few to be remembered, it seems...
