Hi All, I got bored, and bought a watch off of the evilbay......again, so i have a question.

The seller stated that it was working then stopped, and another battery did not cure the problem, He relisted it, and i got it at almost half the previous listing bids......

Popped a new battery in, pressed buttons A and b, just like the old phone boxes..., and away we went, just like that.

Really pleased. However, I am not fond of the original Seiko bracelet, as it has too much gold, so I will source a black one to match the Sports 150m World Timer I have.

Happy for £50.00.....

The question is....The Seiko dating tool gives 1991 or 2001, can anyone narrow this down for me please?

My guess would be ‘01. Many people don’t realize that you have to AC the movement when swapping batteries.

I checked the one fitted when it arrived, 0.55v......that would be the problem then......

Back in the day I had several of this caliber. If I remember correctly they ran from ‘93 to ‘02.

No, Sorry Gentlemen.
I'm not sure when they were phased out, but the first 7T32's were manufactured in late 1989.

I did a web search, which I should’ve done in the first place, and it appears the production ran from 1988 to either 2001 or 2002. Here are a couple of relevant links:

My mistake. It’s been over ten years since I collected this caliber. They are a great chrono but are a little quirky.

Not for what you'd consider 'reasonable' - meaning more than you paid for the watch. Here's one that sold on eBay two years ago for £93.55:

Though there are cheaper (non-Seiko branded) alternatives. See this old archived thread:
