I have a 7002-7001 with a dead movement, and before I start digging into it, I'd like to know if the 7s26 movement out of a modern SKX would be a drop-in swap. The cases look to be the same, but I do not want to commit to doing this if there are going to be issues, like stem length or date wheel non-compatibility between the two movements, as the SKX date wheel has been used in a 4r36 swap, and I need to use the one from the 7001.

It would be better / easier to have the 7002 movement overhauled. They're good movement and there is some tricky work etc needed to fit a 7S26 into a case for a 7002.

I don't think that the 7002 date wheel works reliably on the 7S, without modding the changeover mech.
It's also dependent on 7S spec, as the 7SxxC date wheel is indexed differently to 7SxxA/B

Thanks for the info. I've checked the 7001, and since the upper and lower barrel arbor ports are not all worn out, like my 6309, an overhaul will be worth the expense.
