Anyone have a quick clue or link to a Wikihow on potential causes for the date wheel on my older 7002 to have stopped? For a bit there, it was having trouble advancing if I needed to set the date, like it would take two turns to get it to go once. Now, it's halfway onto a date, and it just sits there. Watch works fine, keeps great time. I'm hoping to have a clue before I dive in, not liking the idea of having my first foray into this watch be blind.

Could be numerous things, most likely of which is a worn/damaged/missing tooth on the date wheel or in some part of the date change mechanism. These teeth are very small and can easily be damaged. To give you an idea of how small, the photo below shows (arrowed) a missing tooth on the quick-set date/day mechanism from a 6138-8020 I acquired. Doesn't take much to stuff 'em up, which is why the 'don't change the day or date between 9pm and 4am' mantra has to be strictly observed. Good luck!
