I just purchased an original turtle (7049) with serial number 610101. Is this darn thing as early as I want to believe that it is? Also is it realistic to believe that I can find a replacement rotating bezel? Mike in Missouri

Thread is old, but if the dial has a Suwa logo just below the water resist text then it would be an extremely early 6309, which I'm not sure were released in '76. Chances are the suwa logo is only in the 6 o'clock dial code and it's a later 'non-suwa' Hong Kong dial 6309-7049 from 1986.

That's a lot of information in two sentences, I thank you for them.

It would be good to get people's thoughts on what the value of an original Suwa dial 6309-7040 from 1980 with the GL831 strap.
