Just doing this mod(my 1st) I'm having trouble switching the (kanjar) day wheel.
I have a 7546 quartz in this and swapped the wheels over from a 6309 - the date wheel is fine but un reassembly the days not changing properly - any tips??
I thought I had it sused with the retaining clip upside down but now I've assembled it it won't change properly

Any help would be appreciated:)

Have you made sure the finger spring is properly engaged?

Its fiddly with the day wheel as its hidden, underneath the day wheel. There are some cutouts around the inner edge which you can use to push the finger spring outwards to engage correctly. It will then lie perfectly flat.

You don't even need to fit the c-clip to test it is changing correctly.

Here's a picture:

you can see the finger spring correctly engaging through the cutout (follow inwards from the day SAT).

The strangely named "date jumper" which the plate screw directly below the date wheel has a sprung lever as a part of it, this must be pulled back to engage on the cog of the date wheels under side once the date wheel is fitted. Tricky to set but without it in the correct position the date wheel won't operate properly.
