Hi ,
today I received my new caseback opener from our fellow forum member Bry (bry 1975) :)

It's easy to handle and well made, a real improvement for little money.

Here you can see how it fits on my 6309-7040 Quartz-Hybrid:

highly recommended :bravo_2:

I bought one too a few weeks ago and agree completely, it is very well made and fits perfectly. Very useful tool which fits the 6105 case back as well. Hopefully no more scratches on my case backs now! :)

Mark,

The non ferrous pins certainly wont gouge SS casebacks and from scratch tests don't appear to scratch SS case backs.

Hi, No-ferrous metals don't have a (Iron content) so they have no matterials in them that can effect marring or scratching metals.

Interesting post. I've been making do with a rubber ball type opener. It is certainly non scratching and versatile, but I doubt it can generate the torque of a conventional tool. I've only used it on old watches that were no longer in a factory tight screw down. Anyone used both?

I've been thinking about picking up one of those four a while, will that opener also work on SKX divers as well?

Hi,

The nickel silver 6 pinner SHOULD undo most SKX/6309/7002/6105 casebacks even really tight casebacks just be careful to hold the watch case and case tool steady.

I have this tool and the H558 case back opening tool, which also fits perfectly (I find) on the 7C43 crystal locking ring.
Both tools are great and never let me down, well recommended.

My turn to ask the question that has not been answered: How do forum noobs contact Bry1975 to enquire about this case back opening tool. Even us noobs hate scratching case backs with nasty wobbly adjustable case back openers that seem purposely designed to gouge case backs.

Hi Bry thanks for the contact. You still producing these openers? Looks like there's considerable interest an I was wondering when someone would figure out the secret to not scratching casebacksmight be using a softer non carbide holding medium for pins :)

Hi,

From previous experience most Jaxa type openers use cheap glass hard carbon steel pins, that gauge austenitic stainless steel like a knife through butter! :) lol

Hey Bry, because the South African Post Office is in a complete shambles with recent industrial action and terminal systems problems I am still eagerly awaiting the case opener you made me. I've had to resort to other methods of getting parts and tools back and forth since.

I'll let you know as soon as I get it in hand and thanks for the effort you went to!
