I just got this beauty back from service, built out of a beautiful donor that had a notched case but was badly damaged. The caseback still worked fine and I held on to the notched case just in case I ever become friends with a micro welder

Anyway here’s my question:

Have any of you ever tried this watch with an Uncle Seiko waffle strap, either original or with the curved ends? I think that would look awesome on this watch, but if one of you has tried it or can try it and save me wasting money chasing this idea if it’s a bust (poor fit, bad aesthetic, etc) - it’s worth a shot. If not I may just have to be that guy for the next guy.

[mention]UncleSeiko [/mention] - perhaps you’ve tried it Larry? I already have another on the new speed master bracelet, so this would be a different option. What the heck I will put a picture of that one up as well because I love it!

I like the Uncle Seiko "JDM retrofit" which mimics the correct one or a plain H-Link.

I think a waffle would be a terrible swing-and-a-miss. Never tried it so no photo. Of course the only thing that really matters is what YOU like !!!

I’m generally not a fan of 6139s on anything but a bracelet, but that’s just what I like.

I briefly wore mine on a ORANGE US waffle while I waited for a bracelet donor. It's not a look for everyone. The black US tropic looks good on it.

Every time I see a 6139 on any strap, I am woefully disappointed. Just get an US H-Link for it….

OK here is the plan: I will order said US waffle and if I hate it I will sell the other one with the waffle on it and keep the US bracelet I already have for the "better" one.

Whatever you like is all that matters.

There’s a reason you don’t see that case with a strap in pictures, it looks best on a bracelet as that’s what it was designed for and came with only.
