Does anyone know either where I can find a movement holding spring or how to improvise one myself? My case ring had only part of one left! And then does it need to be attached or can the spring just be sandwiched between the case ring and case back? I'm assuming that's how it functions. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks,
Curt

Thanks guys.

I had part of the spring in my watch and it seemed to be kinda working. Had a close look and didn't like the rusting spring half so picked it off the case ring. With mine, the movement is clanging back and forth and the counter weight rotor hits the case back now. I thought about an o-ring but finding the correct dimension may be tough. I'll take my calipers to the o-ring bin and maybe get lucky. I do have a dozen case back gaskets coming from Asia so maybe cutting a few to use as spacers will work. They seem a bit thin to get enough space filled though. I don't have pusher springs or o-rings either, so when I install those there may be enough resistance from the pushers to keep the case ring from moving back and forth?? I'll report back.

I have two 6139's - one has that ring, one doesn't - I don't notice any difference.
Interesting - yes, at least one other member has mentioned that the movement holder spring doesn't seem to make much difference. The only thing I can suggest is that I don't yet have pusher springs installed, they seem to add a bit of tension against the movement holder. It's possible that your watch without the movement holder spring has good pusher springs kinda sorta holding the movement holder in place? My panda seems to be like that.
